Wall of Sleep is back and to what surprise! I fell in love with this band some five years back with Sun Faced Apostles and was put down big time when they decided to continue with the appalling lukewarm cockslap that. When Mountains Roar brings back a band with both freshness and maturity in sound. Actually to an extent that on first hearing, I thought I had mixed up the band, although I was soon corrected by hearing the vocals. Singing had always been an issue with WoS, but apart from the strong Balkan accent, things are way better. Sun Faced Apostles framed the potential this band was packing in 2005, and still proves to be a good album performed by guys still cutting their teeth. No longer content with mere doom, Wall of Sleep is now closer to the stoner turf.
