Fotomaker had a pretty impressive pedigree. Guitarist/vocalist Wally Bryson came from power pop gods the Raspberries, and bassist Gene Cornish and drummer Dino Danelli were founding members of the Rascals. The other two bandmembers, guitarist/vocalist Lex Marchesi and Frankie Vinci, were no slouches either, as the two of them were responsible for most of the songwriting and singing on the band's fine 1978 debut.

With two members stemming from the Rascals, Fotomaker sang tightly polished pop/rock songs, complete with catchy choruses and ample guitar work, but never really came to fruition outside of New York. All three of their albums, Fotomaker, Vis-A-Vis, and Transfer Station contribute to the 16 tracks on this all-you-need collection. As substance is sparse in their music, they aren't without some attractive hooks, and some of their love songs do merit creativity.

Fotomaker was a power pop group from Long Island, NY which released three albums between 1978 and 1979. They were somewhat of a supergroup of power-pop musicians from previous groups, featuring what would become some future members of the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame, albeit for their work with previous bands. They made three albums within the span of a little over a year, the third of which is considered the weaker of the three.
