Sugar and Spice is the 1966 debut album by The Cryan' Shames, originally released in mono (CL 2589) and in stereo (CS 9389). The cover photography was done by Don Bronstein. The album was recorded in two days (August 25 and 26, 1966). The liner photography was done by Rich Dienethal of River Grove, Illinois. The cover photograph was taken at The Sweet Tooth in Pipers Alley, Old Town, Chicago. The album is dedicated to Fred Bohlander.

Sugar & Spice is the fifth studio album by American singer Mýa. It was released by Manhattan Recordings exclusively in Japan on December 3, 2008. The album was produced through Mýa's own independent label imprint Planet 9 following her departure from Universal Motown amid the leakage of her previous album Liberation on the Japanese music market. Instead of spending a year and "hundreds of thousands of dollars" in court suing her record label, Motown/Universal, she opted out of her contract.

New artists don’t get much time to carve out an identity anymore. So it’s either fortunate or canny that Harriette Pilbeam-an Australian bassist and singer-songwriter who records as Hatchie-opens Sugar & Spice with a song that captures her aesthetic even before the vocals kick in. Like most of the record, Sure is a wide-eyed appeal to a lover that alternates between drowsy verses and honeyed choruses. The intro foregrounds an acoustic guitar melody that definitely recalls the riff on Kiss Me by Sixpence None the Richer.

Sugar And Spice’ is a suiting title for Pilbeam’s debut EP; each song is saturated with lyrical clichés and bright arrangements that veer on the edge of sickly sweet, while the cover art, which features Pilbeam staring pensively through a cut out heart, could easily serve as a Valentine’s Day card cover.
