No Limit Top Dogg is the fourth studio album and second on No Limit Records by American rapper Snoop Dogg. It was released May 11, 1999, by No Limit Records and Priority Records. Following the mixed reception of his previous two albums, Snoop began to work again with Dr. Dre and returned to the west coast sound of his earlier career while on Death Row Records.

Snoop Dogg’s fourth album, No Limit Top Dogg, was released on May 11, 1999 through No Limit Records and Priority Records. Snoop faced criticism over the beats he chose on his previous two albums, Tha Doggfather and Da Game Is to Be Sold, Not to Be Told, neither featuring input from his mentor Dr. Dre. The two reunited on this album as Dre provided three tracks, while DJ Quik, G-One, Jelly Roll, Bud'da, Meech Wells and others also helped provide a West Coast G-Funk soundscape for Snoop. The album debuted at on the Billboard 200 chart and was supported by the singles Bitch Please with.

Turns out he had a trick up his sleeve, because Top Dogg is about as individualized an album as possible under the No Limit precepts. Since the outset of his career, Snoop has shown a fondness for early-'80s synth funk, and for the first time, he lets that form the basis of an album. And while there may be a bit too much recycling for some tastes, the end result isn't just the freshest-sounding Snoop album since his debut, it's easily the freshest-sounding No Limit album.

Following the release of his previous album on No Limit, Snoop was granted more creative freedom by Master P which resulted in an album that returned to the sound of his early days on Death Row Snoop Dogg explained "Master P signed me, so he had the right to dictate and direct me on the first album, because he was bringing me out.
