The decay theory proposes that memory fades due to the mere passage of time. When we learn something new, a neurochemical "memory trace" is created. However, over time this trace slowly disintegrates. Actively rehearsing information is believed to be a major factor counteracting this temporal decline.

Currently living in Glasgow (Scotland), Richard Youngs is a highly versatile and experimental artist. He has been releasing and performing music since the early 80s, either solo or with a collaborator - and more recently as part of prog revivalists ILK. His work ranges from the affecting Sapphie (a lament for his dog) to the strange humor of Lake (recorded over 3 days in 1990 with Simon Wickham-Smith).
