It seems a long time ago now when Every Time I Die came out with ‘Hot Damn!’ which proved to be one of the greatest metalcore albums around and instantly projected them over their peers.
Micciche left in 2005 and was briefly replaced by Kevin Falk, who performed on the band's third album Gutter Phenomenon. The 2005 release reached number 71 on the US Billboard 200. Chris Byrnes took Falk's place later in the year, who was later substituted for Keller Harbin for touring. The group's fourth album (and their final release on Ferret Music), The Big Dirty, was released in 2007 and reached number 41 on the Billboard 200, as well as entering the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart at number five
Every Time I Die. Produced by The Machine. Album Gutter Phenomenon. The New Black Lyrics. Baby You got me all wrong And maybe I'm not at all down and out I'm high and I'm in. Don't you know who I am? I'm the jaded one with pop insensitivity And when I finish struggling We can make our way to the dance floor And stand like strangers In an elevator stuck between stories I always find myself in the middle of your stories. Gutter Phenomenon Every Time I Die. 1. Apocalypse Now and Then.
Hot Damn! is the second studio album by American metalcore band Every Time I Die. In mid-December 2002, it was announced that the band had booked time to record their next album in February 2003, with the aim of releasing it in June. Recording took place at Trax East studios in South River, New Jersey with producer Eric Rachel. On February 13, it was announced that drums had been tracked and that progress on guitars was underway.
Gutter Phenomenon is the current peak of that philosophy. Without relying too much on breakdowns and open-chord chugging, Every Time I Die still rock just as hard as they used to, but with much more emphasis on the rock'n'roll parts that were starting to come through on Hot Damn! Thin Lizzy-inspired lead riffs pop up all over the place, the best example being the downright delicious riff in "The New Black. That riff stands out so boldly, it's at that point in the album that you know you've stumbled into a full-on rock'n'roll sleazefest. An album like Gutter Phenomenon probably isn't even meant to be evaluated. Every Time I Die do not care about being taken seriously, and that's why their music has taken this sharp turn towards the rock. This is good-time, fun music. When Buckley yells "Fuck yeah, we're gonna party tonight!," that's Every Time I Die's flag being shoved into the sand.
Only 8 left in stock (more on the way). Every Time I Die is one of those bands that come along and just amaze you upon first listen. The first CD I heard by them, Hot Damn!, was excellent, because I felt it broke all the boundries in their genre of music. They mixed heavy hardcore-like rhythem guitar with southern rock kind of lead riffs.
