By 2000, Breiding had accumulated a wide array of critical acclaim in Western Pennsylvania and in his native Ohio Valley, and he filled opening slots for more than a half-dozen acts at one of Pittsburgh's most highly regarded venues, Rosebud. Recently, Tom has been a guest at Jamboree in the Hills in Belmont, Ohio where he has performed each of the past four years to audiences exceeding 80,000.
Tom Breiding has been honing his singing, guitar playing and songwriting talents since the early 1980s, from his hometown of Wheeling . a. to his current residence in Pittsburgh, and points in between. One of Western Pennsylvania's most diverse, prolific, and longest-serving entertainers, he's played in working bands for thirty-five years continuously, served on the staff of a major Nashville publishing company, and has released thirteen of his own albums since 1991. As the musician in residence for the United Mine Workers of America, Breiding has played some of these songs at rallies across the country, and his musical storytelling has been a powerful force in helping retired coal miners win pension and health benefits. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers is the debut album by the band of the same name, released on November 9, 1976 by Shelter Records.
