Come Out and Play is the fourth album by the American heavy metal band Twisted Sister, released by Atlantic Records on November 9, 1985. It was less successful than its predecessor Stay Hungry (1984), both critically and commercially although the album sold more than 500,000 copies, earning it Gold status, After the success of Stay Hungry, Twisted Sister were faced with the question whether they should continue in a more pop-oriented direction or return to their early heavy metal roots

Twisted Sister - Out On The Streets (Heavy Metal, Glam Metal, Hard Rock) 04:27. Twisted Sister - Love Is For Suckers (Glam Metal) 03:25. Twisted Sister - Like A Knife In The Back 03:05. Twisted Sister - Come Back 06:32. Twisted Sister - Crazy Train (Ozzy Osbourne cover) 05:08. See You Later Oscillator - Twisted Sister 06:37.

And so came Come Out And Play, an album which is a lot more polished than all of the band's earlier releases. Produced by then-current long-time Scorpions producer Dieter Dierks, the album sounds quite reminiscent to Scorpions' hit album Love At First Sting. While the production is a lot cleaner, sometimes too clean (but also clearer-sounding, on the upside), the band's music haven't really changed. The album's music covers a few different areas, ranging from speed metal-esque tracks to ballads to the classic comical-style Twisted Sister. The opening and also title-track starts off with a creepy intro which is a direct reference from the movie The Warriors (1979), urging Twisted Sister (rather than "The Warriors") to come out and play - and boom - Dee Snider does a real twisted (pun intended) scream before the song blasts out in high speed.

As the resulting album, 1985's Come Out and Play, proved, the band pursued a little bit of both. Behind the boards was Scorpions/Accept producer Dieter Dierks, and the compositions alternated between the ambitious (the title track), obvious ready-for-radio tracks (a cover of "Leader of the Pack," "Be Chrool to Your Scuel"), and songs custom-made for headbangers ("The Fire Still Burns," "Kill or Be Killed")
