Acid Visions: The Complete Collection, Vol. 1. 1991. Roy Head delivers a fine Johnny Winter tune, "Easy Lovin' Girl," and Winter himself sings a prime slice of folk-rock-acid-punk, "Birds Can't Row Boats" (this version, incidentally, is much better than the one found on the early Winter compilation of the same name). The other names are totally obscure, and some of the tracks weren't even released until the 1980s.

I'm looking for information about the band Airhead (4) Their song 'You Knock Me Down' appears on the CD Psychedelic States: Texas In The 60s Vol. 1 and everyone in Internet-land swears it sounds '76, not '66 as claimed. The only information I can find about it is that it had previously been released on Acid Visions Vol. 9 (Child Of Evil). And judging from this conversation, it sounds like the good people at Acid Visions (2) like to get high and make stuff up.

That "Surf Knights" track is actually The Sound Investment "Like My Girl", a 1967 B side on Laurie, written by Neal Ford - but it's a longer version than the single.

Following on from what Dean1949 has written….. this is indeed a strange and spotty collection of tracks. The original, first volume of Acid Visions was really great (more or less the first disc here)…. but tagged onto it is another 2 cds worth of dubious material. The Elevators tracks don't even have Roky singing! There's still great tracks scattered through it but be careful…. it's a jungle out there. If you paid a fiver for it you'd have a great bargain. If you paid £30…. not so good.

By the way, there was no such band as Neal Ford & The Ramadas nor was there a band in the 60's in Texas named Roy Head & The Great Believers. Again, be careful that you are not buying bogus recordings. Go to www.deancookmusic.com for more information.

My name is Dean Cook. I am an original member of the Surf Knights listed above under 2-39. The Surf Knights never recorded that song "There's No Girl Like my Girl". I wrote nearly all of The Surf Knights material and that is not The Surf Knights. I don't know who it is but it was not the Surf Knights. I would be very careful buying this as I believe it to be a bogus piece of vinyl.

I think they are The Sound Investment, a Texas band http://www.45cat.com/record/lr3398
