Lewis Taylor is the first album by the British neo-soul composer and t Lewis Taylor, released in 1996. Taylor recorded this album in the late 1990s, in reaction to British press naming him "new British blue-eyed soulster", and cites Fleetwood Mac and Beach Boys as his main influences. He intended it to be released as a follow-up to his 1996 self-titled debut, but Island Records rejected it, after which he returned with the album Lewis II. Another Excellent Lewis Taylor Album. The Lost Album" shows just how sad it is that we probably won't be hearing anything more from the retired Lewis Taylor. If this was any indication of how his musical sensibility was growing and evolving, then we are all missing out on something wonderful.
