He was born in Chicago, Illinois, and began playing guitar at the age of 5 and alto saxophone at the age of 11. His other early interests included graphics and visual art, writing, dance, puppetry, painting, sculpting, and poetry

John Klemmer Format: Audio Cassette. there was John Klemmer. Talk about transcending a genre, especially when it didn't exist yet!. Klemmer sets up the mellow grooves that we have come to associate with smooth jazz. But there are no cliche blues licks, none of the that players in this genre try to foist upon as as "hip". those other guys (whose names will not be mentioned. I bought this album on vinyl many years ago and am glad to do so again.
