Eye in the Sky is the sixth studio album by English rock band The Alan Parsons Project, released in June 1982 by Arista Records. Songs on this album are in a number of different styles, from cool and funky to lyrical and heavily orchestrated.
Produced by Alan Parsons Executive Producer – Eric Woolfson Engineered by Alan Parsons Assistant Engineer –Tony Richards Recorded and mixed at Abbey Road Studios, London An Analog multitrack recording mixed to Sony 1610 digital format. Thanks to David Rockberger, Don Cohn, Lee Blackman, Jack Quinn, Leonard Green, George Bozier, Jack Galloway, Mike Howard, Aron Misan, George Hamer, Chris Blair, Ken Townsend and the Abbey Road brigade and especially to Smokey, Hazel and Bob Buziak for their patience and understanding. AP I often worked at home on writing instrumental tracks that could be programmed and subsequently imported into the Studio environment, where Eric and I would work on them together with the studio band.
Speaking about both last year, Alan Parsons said audiophiles will be pleased to know that there is a brand new . Surround Sound mix, which I am extremely pleased with incidentally, and also a Hi Def stereo version taken from the original analog stereo master tape which was recorded simultaneously alongside the digital mix. This new blu-ray audio (interesting to note that Sony are persevering with the ‘High Fidelity Pure Audio’ moniker, which seems to have been all but forgotten by Universal) will be issued on 3 August 2018. This album will be amazing in . Reply.
Produced by Alan Parsons & Eric Woolfson. Album Eye In The Sky. Eye in the Sky Lyrics. Don't think sorry's easily said Don't try turning tables instead You've taken lots of chances before But I ain't gonna give anymore Don't ask me That's how it goes 'Cause part of me knows what you're thinking. I am the eye in the sky Looking at you I can read your mind I am the maker of rules Dealing with fools I can cheat you blind And I don't need to see any more to know that I can read your mind, I can read your mind. Don't leave false illusions behind Don't cry cause I ain't changing my mind So find another fool like before Cause I ain't gonna live anymore believing Some of the lies while all of the signs are deceiving.
The Alan Parsons Project, which was strictly a studio group at the time, used various members on lead vocals; Woolfson would usually record a guide vocal and Alan Parsons, who was also the group's producer, would decide whose voice best suited the song. In later years, Parsons toured with a band and sang this song during performances. In some ways, this is an extension of The Alan Parsons Project's previous album The Turn of a Friendly Card, which deals with gambling. The instrumental track "Sirius" opens the album and leads into "Eye In The Sky," but unlike some of the Pink Floyd tracks that radio stations played together, "Sirius" was usually dropped when "Eye In The Sky" got airtime. Sirius" later came into its own as a jock jam when the Chicago Bulls started using it as introduction music in Michael Jordan's rookie year.
Eye in the Sky provided the Alan Parsons Project with their first Top Ten hit since 1977's I Robot, and it's hard not to feel that crossover success was one of the driving forces behind this album. The Project never shied away from hooks, whether it was on the tense white funk of "I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You" or the gleaming pop hooks of "Games People Play," but Eye in the Sky was soft and smooth, so smooth that it was easy to ignore that the narrator of the title track was an ominous omniscient who spied. And, unlike I Robot or The Turn of a Friendly Card, it is possible to listen to Eye in the Sky and not dwell on the larger themes, since they're used as a foundation, not pushed to center stage. What does dominate is the lushness of sound, the sweetness of melody: this is a soft rock album through and through, one that's about melodic hooks and texture.
