They made their name with their 1992 debut ‘Generation Terrorists’, and followed it up with ‘Gold Against the Soul’ in 1993 and what many consider to be their magnum opus, the unremittingly dark ‘The Holy Bible’, in 1994. In more recent years, they’ve released an album based around unused Edwards lyrics - the ‘Journal for Plague Lovers’, headlined a show based around their singles compilation at London’s O2 Arena, and released two quickfire records in 2013 and 2014, ‘Rewind the Film’ and ‘Futurology’. Manic Street Preachers are a band from South Wales, they are an exceptionally talented bunch of lads.

An album of B-sides, rarities and cover versions was released in 2003 entitled Lipstick Traces (A Secret History of Manic Street Preachers), which contains the last song the band worked on with Edwards. The album received a far more positive reception from fans than the Forever Delayed greatest hits album, which was heavily criticised for favouring the band's more commercially successful singles.

This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours was the band’s fifth studio release, and won the NME Award for Best Album in 1999, as well as being nominated for the Mercury Music Prize. Manic Street Preachers have released 13 studio albums during their career, the most recent being Resistance is Futile in 2018. Last updated: October, 2018.
