☆☆ ~ Great and respectable work. Even though the whole project doesn't manages the virtuosity and versatility as a majestic album effectively does, the overall feeling was succesfully positive on me. 1mo. No one has said anything yet. Contributions By. othelob.

Track Conrad Schnitzler. Conrad Schnitzler (1937 – 4 August 2011) was a prolific German experimental musician considered an institution in electronic conceptual composition. Schnitzler was born in Düsseldorf.

The album picks up where his tenure in the group Cluster had ended, meaning that it is warmer than Kraftwerk's music from that period and wittier than the Tangerine Dream axis. The album, over one hour long, is roughly split between two half-hour suites of segued untitled pieces

Bureau B. Conrad Schnitzler "Gold" snippets. Like the silver album the golden album is a song collection from Schnitzler's archive. The "golden" collection has been recorded between 1976 and 1978, originally released (on CD only) by the German label Marginal Talent in 2003. The compositions are guaranteed to dumbfound even the most enlightened Schnitzler listeners. Stuctured like a symphony in various movements, utterly abstract atonal passages are followed by solid sequences of rhythm and harmony, as energetic as Cluster, yet equally evocative of 1980s electronic pop music.

Conrad Schnitzler - 'Gold'. Listening to krautrock is not the method of studying the West German economy of the 1970s we'd recommend. While the nation as a whole experienced financial. Conrad Schnitzler, who died in 2011 aged 74, played in early versions of Tangerine Dream and Cluster, before both gained recognition via Branson and Bowie respectively. His drama-soaked keyboard compositions, often released on cassette, only reached tiny audiences, but ‘Gold’ – 14 untitled late-‘70s tracks – confirm that his recent reappraisal isn’t just a case of bloggers fetishising the obscure. Sometimes blissful and pulsing, sometimes a proto-techno clatter, Schnitzler’s vision was remarkably ahead of its time.

Contrary to what you may have read elsewhere, and what it says on releases and in catalogues, GOLD is not old 70s recordings. The Marginal-Talent CD says "Recorded 1974-1978" which is utter nonsense, as it's virtually all digital and definitely 1986 or later. There are some themes close to those on Con-Hertz "Contrasts" which dates from 1987, and sound textures close to Constellations or the Tonart works. Quite simply, none of the instruments used here existed before the mid 80s. To this point there was a steady shift and development in Cons work, always progressing with each new piece of equipment that he bought. The E-mu SP-1200 sampler* Con was using at this time was brand new technology which he further used on the "Micon In Italia" LP and almost exclusively on Con-Hertz "Contrasts".* https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-mu_SP-1200
