All Things Must Pass was released by Apple Records in November 1970. Co-produced by Harrison and Phil Spector, many musicians contributed to the album, including Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, Pete Drake, Gary Wright, Klaus Voormann, members of Badfinger, players from Delaney and Bonnie band, and John Barham. The triple-LP topped charts around the world and earned universal acclaim as a rock masterpiece.
Throughout All Things Must Pass, George acts as moral witness and proselytizer for a way of life. When he sings lines like You’ve been polluted so long, or not too many people can see we’re all the same, these lines, like those of While My Guitar Gently Weeps, and Piggies, carry an air of sanctimoniousness and moral superiority which is offensive. Here George stops preaching, and, speaking only to a God, delivers a simple, but majestic plea: Help me Lord please To rise a little higher Help me Lord please To burn out this desire. Beyond particular evaluations, this is an album of striking honesty and force, greater than the sum of its parts.
All Things Must Pass had the quality of a broken-off conversation picked up years later; there were gorgeous songs here that Harrison had brought to the group, only to be met with to varying degrees of indifference. Isn’t It a Pity had been rejected from Revolver, while All Things Must Pass was passed over for Abbey Road. In hindsight, it is impossible to imagine these songs having half the impact if they had appeared sandwiched between, say, Don’t Pass Me By and Why Don’t We Do It in the Road.
All Things Must Pass. Released November 27, 1970. All Things Must Pass Tracklist. 1. I'd Have You Anytime Lyrics. Often named among the best or the best Beatles‘ solo album, All Things Must Pass, Harrison’s third overall album and first serious studio LP, was an enormous commercial and critical success, complete with hit singles, including chart-topper My Sweet Lord. The enormous triple disc set consists mostly of songs Harrison wrote while with the Fab Four, and the songwriting is consistently high across the first two discs (the third being instrumental guitar work titled Apple Jam )
All Things Must Pass" is a song by English musician George Harrison, issued in November 1970 as the title track to his triple album of the same name. Billy Preston released the song originally – as "All Things (Must) Pass" – on his Apple Records album Encouraging Words (1970), after the Beatles had rejected it for inclusion on their Let It Be album in January 1969. While discussing "All Things Must Pass" with music journalist Timothy White in 1987, Harrison recalled that his "starting point" for the composition was Robertson's "The Weight" – a song that had "a religious and a country feeling to it". Musically, the verses of "All Things Must Pass" are set to a logical climb within the key of E; the brief choruses.
The genesis of All Things Must Pass began when George visited America in November 1968 and established his long-lasting friendship with Bob Dylan, while staying in Woodstock. It coincided with a time when George’s songwriting output was on the rise, and becoming increasingly self-assured, and not just for The Beatles. All Things Must Pass- The song starts out with some slow piano chords and George comes in with some inspired vocals. The lyrics of this song are reminiscient of Here Comes the Sun and Let it Be. They say that time heals everything, and that things will change over time. This isn't quite as good as either of those, but still an amazing song. George really shows off his slide guitar skills on this album, and his songwriting and singing flourish. George never had quite the confidence in his voice that John or Paul did, but he makes up for less power with more emotion. The supporting cast of musicians is pretty much as good as you could imagine, and they work together flawlessly on this album.
