Sleep is an album by composer Max Richter. Released on September 4, 2015 on Deutsche Grammophon, as a digital download, and on December 11, 2015 as an 8-CD/1-Blu-ray se. the album serves as a concept album based around the neuroscience of sleep, hence its length of over eight hours. Sleep was accompanied by simultaneous release of the one-hour-long album, From Sleep, with seven additional tracks (different variations of tracks from the main album), and later by the remix album Sleep Remixes.

If only therapy was this effective and entertaining for everyone.

Bludsong

This music creates a powerful atmosphere. I suppose it's dungeon synth music, but I think it steps outside of those boundaries in every way except, perhaps, the track titles. The music is queasy about its own existence, it shifts, warps; loses its balance. The album is a little samey and runs together, but it works in this case. The vibe it conjures is very intentional and I can understand wanting to pinpoint that emotion and lock on to it.One wonders what energies are being worked with: the logo is clearly a sigil; and Tara may be in reference to the mahavidya Tara, the dark (nila) saraswati who is easiest to perceive in funeral pyres; burning grounds (embers?) If that is, indeed, what is being worked with; she has certainly granted the artist the gift of poesy.
