still absolutely devastating . strings , and THAT vocal . very early pioneering dark soulfull house . stunning must have in your collection . if you like chicago detroit kinda stuff from that era with a vocal as powerfull as robert owens this obscure track hits the spot . a cult track for sure , never crossed to the masses at all . must have been incredible to be at a ron hardy gig of that era .the unusual thing about this release is it must be the only 12" i own that has the lead track as the acapella ! notihng wrong with being a lil different ;-)

I dusted off a beat-up copy and listened to all the mixes for the first timy since the late 80's...I was obsessed with this song back in the final years right before the Paradise Garage closed. Truth be told, I think this is way superior to Ten City's classic "Devotion", which in itself is an amazing and timeless anthem. I think this one is even more original and starkly dark and sad (in a gorgeous way), and thoroughly progressive and ahead of its time, while staying deeply soulful and plaintive. An absolute must-own for lovers of Electronic Black Vocal Soul.
