The Royal Hawaiian Band is a large (40-plus members) concert band, but the arrangements employed effectively break up the ensemble into smaller groups, and the level of virtuosity is high. In all, this is a marvelous introduction to a unique subset of the concert band tradition, of interest to band buffs, lovers of Hawaiian music, those planning a visit to the islands with more in mind than just lying on a beach, and those who enjoy the classic era of light music in general.
