I crossed paths with Integrity's Humanity Is The Devil on a merch table and was immediately drawn to the distinctive Pushead cover art. This was in early '96 and I wasn't totally sure what I was getting.

An essential metalcore release. Integrity is the band that perfected metalcore. A bold statement, but it's substantiated by the fact that no modern metalcore band has matched the raw passion of the music written by Integrity.

Humanity Is The Devil was an aural assault like no other at the time. From the guttural album opener, 'Vocal Test' through the slow burn of 'Jagged Visions Of My True Destiny,' Humanity Is The Devil would completely defy genre standards and scene norms. After two decades the resulting waves are still as apparent as when it was released in 1996. Every positive aspect of Integrity and their music absolutely shines here and is turned up to eleven. Dwid has some of his most powerful and introspective lyrics, while the Melnick brothers continue to create classic instrumentals in the Integrity discography. The result of the above mentioned creates a gem of hostile aggression in a manner that only this band could dish out.
