The World Slavery Tour was a concert tour by the heavy metal band Iron Maiden in support of their fifth album, Powerslave, beginning in Warsaw, Poland on 9 August 1984 and ending in Irvine, California on 5 July 1985. The tour was notorious for being the band's most arduous to date- although it was very successful, the band were left exhausted by its end in 1985 and demanded a break for the rest of the year before starting work on Somewhere In Time in 1986.

Iron Maiden's World Slavery Tour was one of the longest and most extensive tours ever undertaken by a rock band. Lasting from August 9, 1984, to July 5, 1985, and visiting such countries as Poland, Austria, Hungry, Yugoslavia, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Scotland, England, Germany, Sweden, Canada, Japan, and the . the show included a mammoth setup that replicated the intricate ancient Egyptian scenery of the Powerslave album cover. As a "thank you" to the hundreds of thousands of fans who packed arenas the world over, the double-disc live set Live After Death was issued.
The tour, dubbed World Slavery Tour, was to be over two years in length, and had Maiden playing shows all over the earth, including countries behind the Iron Curtain of the Soviet Union, nations like Poland. The night: March 17. The Location: Long Beach, California. For the fourth straight night, fans had packed Long Beach Arena to see Iron Maiden perform. But this night was special. Live After Death is by far, one of the best live albums I have ever listened to. Right from the opening moments of the album, through to the end, it's clear why Maiden consider themselves to be more of a live band than a studio band. The energy displayed by both the band and the crowd is phenomenal. The high level of energy is especially evident in classic songs like Aces High and The Trooper, songs the crowd really gets into.
