Music legend Eric Clapton has reunited with famed producer Glyn Johns for his forthcoming 23rd studio album I Still Do, set for release on May 20, 2016 on his Bushbranch Records/Surfdog Records. Clapton and Johns who has also produced albums for The Eagles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and The Who most famously worked together on Clapton's iconic Slowhand album, which is RIAA-certified 3x-platinum and topped charts globally. The 12-track record includes some original songs written by Clapton
Clapton used cocaine and alcohol as a way to curb his heroin addiction and he felt that he was able to sing about it because he didn’t believe it controlled his life and he could quit whenever he wanted. Eric Clapton clearly stated that the song is – quite cleverly anti-cocaine. In an interview (reference here) he said –. It’s no good to write a deliberate anti-drug song and hope that it will catch.
In 1999 their first studio album, Slipknot, was released. That same year the band toured with Ozzfest, a traveling festival tour of several heavy metal bands. This helped to propel the bands first album to platinum status, a first for the record label Roadrunner Records. A home-made music video was also released entitled "Welcome To Our Neighborhood". Today, after the release of four studio albums Slipknot may be ready for another comeback. Part of what drew attention to the band was their decision to conceal their identities by donning masks for their concert performances. According to band members this was not intended as a "gimmick" but to allow them to totally immerse themselves in the music. In 1999 their first studio album, Slipknot, was released.
