DJ/Rupture's first release on his new label, Unsuitable, is a collabaration with the Ex guitarist Andy Moor. Consisting of live, improvised tracks the duo recorded while touring together, the often-delirious concoction is almost the opposite of Rupture's 2008 mix Uproot- guitar-centric, spontaneous, and brittle. The first release on their own 'unsuitable' label, Dj /rupture and Andy Moor's debut CD Patches bring together the unusual combination of guitar and turntables to powerful effect. Rupture and Moor come from opposite though not opposed musical worlds, not to mention different continents. DJ /rupture and The Ex's Andy Moor will team up at London's Cafe Oto next week to perform a unique show featuring turntables, guitar and electronics. The performance will see the pair move between free improvisation and something resembling a turntablist DJ set. Part of the set will see them present a live soundtrack to the films of data artist Josh Begley. This is the latest in a string of collaborations between Rupture and Moor who first worked together in 2007 and later released their debut album, entitled Patches, in 2009.
