Stereophonics have released ten studio albums, including six UK number one albums. Their latest album is Scream Above the Sounds (2017). A successful compilation album, Decade in the Sun, was released in November 2008 and charted at number two in the United Kingdom. The band reached mainstream success with the release of Performance and Cocktails (and its promotional singles "The Bartender and the Thief", "Just Looking" and "Pick a Part That's New") in 1999 and have achieved a total of ten top-ten singles as well as one number one: "Dakota" (2005). Having sold around 10 million copies worldwide, Stereophonics are one of the most successful Welsh rock acts.

Performance and Cocktails is the second studio album by Welsh rock band Stereophonics. It was released by V2 on 8 March 1999. The name 'Performance and Cocktails' comes from lyrics in the album's first song, "Roll Up and Shine".

V2 Records Stereophonics "EPK" (US 1999 Version). Inside is the full CD in jewel case, 1 quart bag of Franco's Margarita Mix with a Performance and Cocktails sticker on the front (same as box), a custom printed stirring stick and white rubber band both with the band's logo and album title, and finally a VHS tape of the 'electronic press kit' with a plain white label. These would have been mailed only to press in the US prior to the album release.

This doesn't make Performance and Cocktails a bad album, though; fans will be very pleased that the Stereophonics have released another slab of indie-flavored hard rock. Some highlights include "T Shirt Sun Tan," the acoustic "She Takes Her Clothes Off," and the poppy "Pick a Part That's Ne. Japanese versions of this album include three live tracks, but the quality is mediocre and the performances are unspectacular, making this version of the release for hardcore fans only.

The Stereophonics first album, ‘Word Gets Around’ in 1996, was somewhat of a let down in terms of sales, but critically the Stereophonics had gotten off to a good start. By the time this album had been out for a month, they had outsold Blur and had massive UK singles including ‘Pick A Part That’s New’ and ‘Just Looking’. Despite the argument that this album lacks the urgency of it’s older brother, the songs have a certain quality about them that makes them more instantly appealing than the previous tunes. The album gets off to a fine and energetic start after fifteen seconds or so of feedback.

There are three themes to Performance And Cocktails: slow, a bit faster and "hey, let's make a noise for a bit"  . I can guarantee they will blow you away without a shadow of a doubt. Now to replace the rest of my over played Stereophonics collection

Listening to Performance and Cocktails is similar to sucking on a folded up pair of Gap Khakis. That said, there are two types of rock bands that come from Wales. The first and more exciting faction is the goofy psychedelic pop front with the Super Furry Animals and Gorki's Zygotik Mynci. Those bands slip into their native tongue occasionally, weaving a slight mystical, elven vibe. Pompous stadium rock bands constitute the second bunch of Welsh rock groups. The album continues with an overwhelming assault of whines and chords that neither stick nor particularly rock. The production tastes like Guinness (which, okay, is Irish)- roasted, bitter, and heavy. They also stick with the Britrock standards on the guitar tracks, which invariably sound like distorted lead or acoustic tin.
