The one thing this version of Mozart's Requiem (K. 626) has going for it is that it is inexpensive. While it is not unpleasant to listen to, it comes across as little more than a run-through. The tempo is all over the place and some of the singing by the choir, not the soloists, is very muddy. This is a pity, since Kertesz has produced an excellent version of Mozart's selected Masonic music (including the K. 477 Funeral Music) on Decca. Stick with any of Karajan's versions, that by Boehm, or Marriner's.
