I loved "Get Ready" and this album is just as great. I loved "Get Ready" and this album is just as great. I have all of their stuff, and I like them better than ever. That track is brilliant and what I've always loved about the band. Then I gave a better listen to the rest of the album. After a few more run throughs I found myself getting hooked on the other pieces and tracks. Soon I was thinking about different tracks in my head when I wasn't listening which is usually a good indication that I like a track. And the final measure of how good a song or disc is in the fact that it ends before you think it should.

The infamous Peter Saville designed almost all of them, from Joy Division's "Unknown Pleasures" in 1979 onwards. The world-weary designer had, of late, been giving interviews professing his boredom with music and the music industry, but all the same, complied. His design: a striking Photoshop comp of a lady rising out of a huge tidal wave.

The album was released on 28 March 2005 in the United Kingdom and 25 April 2005 in the United States, and was preceded by the single "Krafty" in February. Two additional singles from the album were released: "Jetstream", which features vocals by Ana Matronic from Scissor Sisters, and the title track of the album. The album was released at a time when the band were experiencing unprecedented recognition in the media.

Almost as surprising as that comeback record was its follow-up, Waiting for the Sirens' Call, which arrived in 2005. Unfortunately, however, the adjectives that need to be attached to this record - workmanlike, customary, unembarrassing - aren't going to make music fans flood the record stores seeking copies.

That track isn't as in love with the sound of space-age guitars as Get Ready, but it's still a three-minute song that's given an extra two minutes' worth of rope to turn stiff and tepid

It was released on 11 January 2013 by Rhino Entertainment. The tracks featured on the album were recorded during the production of 2005's Waiting for the Sirens' Call, but they never made it to the final release.

Many saw this as a bridging of the Waiting for the Sirens' Call album and the then-forthcoming Singles compilation. A CD single for "Waiting for the Sirens' Call" followed the three 7" singles, and was released on October 3, 2005. The two-track CD featured full-length remixes of the song. The song was added to BBC Radio 2's A-List and was also playlisted by Xfm London.
