Dave Kilminster began playing piano in childhood, and later took up the guitar In 1991 he won the 'Guitarist of the Year' award in a competition run by Guitarist Magazine with the instrumental song Sundance; at that time he had a temporary job working on computers for IBM. Shortly after, Kilminster was asked to teach at the Guitar Institute in Acton. His job there also involved writing exam material and courses for Trinity College and Thames Valley University. The Truth will set you free in 2014. Kilminster co-produced Anne-Marie Helder's first solo album The Contact (2004). She sings backing vocals on Scarlet.

We had a very fun & insightful conversation with Dave where he touched on several interesting topics.

Guitar Virtuoso Dave Kilminster’s radical techniques and mesmerizing sounds captivate fans and fellow musicians alike. Dave was named Guitarist Magazine’s first ever Guitarist of the Year. That recognition propelled him on a super-charged career as a multi-faceted guitarist, vocalist, engineer, producer, writer and instructor. Dave continued to play, collaborate and tour with Emerson through the first half of 2006. 2008 sees Dave return to collaborate with John Wetton with the Wetton-Downes' iCon Project, which begins recording its third album in 4Q 2008 and touring in 2009. Dave also has begun a unique collaboration with vocalist Murray Hockrdige, whose soulful voice has been compared to Prince, Sting, and Stevie Wonder and spans three octaves.

Dave Kilminster has toured with Roger Waters since 2006, having played lead guitar on ‘The Dark Side of the Moon’ and ‘The Wall Live’ tours, and the current ‘Us + Them’ tour. After recently completing the North American leg, they’re taking the show to Australia, New Zealand, Europe and South America in 2018. In the past, Dave played with legendary progressive rock musicians Keith Emerson, John Wetton and Carl Palmer, among others. He also toured with Steven Wilson in 2015 and 2016, played guitar on his EP ‘4 ½’ and sang backing vocals on his latest album ‘To the Bone’
