DJ Vibes is an Essex man who has been DJing since 1991. He was first inspired by his Father who DJed Country & Western. He began DJing soul DJ Navigator before he changed name to become Sur Vibes (then just Vibes) after being inspired by Roy Ayers playing the vibes (the xylophone). He decided to start his own radio station (Elite FM) with Terry Hardy & Barrie Jay based in his mum's garage. he then started getting bookings in youth clubs and small clubs playing soul.

DJ Vibe is the undisputed figurehead of the Portuguese electronic dance music scene. His dip into the worlds of music and DJing started in his early teens while he helped his father in his record stor. It was as a remixer that he first scored a milestone, by remixing then-popular band Ban's "Mundo de Aventuras" in a house music style, turning in the first modern dance music remix ever made in the Portuguese music scene. A year later, he joins short-lived Madchester-inspired act LX90, lending his production skills. Their debut 12", Chapter I, caused an uproar on Portuguese dancefloors in late 1993.

DJ Vibe (real name António "Tó" Pereira) is a house music DJ. Vibe was born in Lisbon, Portugal, and became a DJ at 15. At this age he started to perform in clubs and before long he was playing side by side with big names of the dance scene like Paul Oakenfold, Tony Humphries, Roger Sanchez and Danny Tenaglia. However, it was his partnership with another Portuguese, Rui da Silva, that propelled him to the top of the house music scene, both nationally and internationally
