Alix Combelle (15 June 1912 – 26 February 1978) was a French swing saxophonist, clarinetist, and bandleader. He recorded often with Django Reinhardt and the Quintette du Hot Club de France. A native of Paris, his father was François Combelle, who played classical saxophone with the Band of the Republican Guard. Alix Combelle played drums in the late 1920s. In the early 1930s he played clarinet and saxophone in theater pit orchestras in Paris.
Allen began his career at Lloyd Scott in New York City. In 1927 he was in the band of Leon Abbey for the first time to Europe. In 1929 he worked in Budapest at Benny Peyton; In 1936 he went with Abbey on tour to India. In the late 1930s he lived in Paris, where he led his own band, for which he wrote compositions and played in, inter alia, Marcel Bianchi and Alix Combelle. He also belonged to the orchestra of trumpeter Freddy Taylor. Recordings were made in 1937 for Pathé.

Around 1937, he returned to Switzerland, where he played with Philippe Brun, then left jazz to become a pedagogue at the Zurich Conservatory. Egypt is a Grammy Award-winning album by the Senegalese musician Youssou N'Dour, on which he is accompanied by the Egyptian Fathy Salama Orchestra. He did recording sessions in the late 1930s with Philippe Brun and Quintette du Hot Club de France. Deloof also led his own bands, including extensively on record during World War II and in the early 1950s; his sidemen included David Bee and Rudy Bruder.
Unlike Django, Combelle adhered stubbornly to straightforward swing and does not seem to have felt it necessary to modernize into the style and methodology of bop. Most of his best recordings date from the years 1935-1943 and were released on the appropriately named Swing label. He also worked in bands led by trumpeter Arthur Briggs and violinist Michel Warlop, and with Patrick et Son Orchestre, a group led by trombonist Guy Paquinet. He also made a number of fine recordings with groups led by trumpeter Philippe Brun, gigged with altoist Andre Ekyan, and backed popular French vocalists Jean Sablon and Charles Trenet. Combelle visited the . His son Philippe "Fifi" Combelle (b. 1939) sat in with his father's band playing tenor and bass saxophone in 1957; soon thereafter, the younger Combelle switched permanently to drumming.
