The Rocky Horror Picture Show is a 1975 musical horror comedy film by 20th Century Fox produced by Lou Adler and Michael White and directed by Jim Sharman. The screenplay was written by Sharman and actor Richard O'Brien, who is also a member of the cast. The film is based on the 1973 musical stage production The Rocky Horror Show, with music, book, and lyrics by O'Brien. The production is a parody tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the 1930s through to the early 1960s

This recording of the Original 1974 Australian Cast of The Rocky Horror Show was initially released as a gatefold LP by Festival Records in Australia, reissued in the . a year later by Elephant Records as a budget LP (no gatefold), and finally reissued a decade later by Festival Records again on CD. This is the only cast album I know of that uses "The Wedding Song" as a song title in lieu of "Dammit Janet" (though the Steinway Pianola Meets Rocky Horror cover album did also).

The film soundtrack album became the definitive version of the score, despite lacking the songs "Planet Shmanet Janet" and "The Sword of Damocles. The Rocky Horror Picture Show was not successful in its initial theatrical run, but then a strange thing happened. In 1976, the Waverly Theater in New York's Greenwich Village began showing the film at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Did not realize Tim Curry starred in the original stage production. The songs sound very different from the movie, but that's what gives it all the charm.
