The Adventures of Pinocchio, also simply known as Pinocchio, is a novel for children by Italian author Carlo Collodi, written in Pescia. It is about the mischievous adventures of an animated marionette named Pinocchio and his father, a poor woodcarver named Geppetto. It was originally published in a serial form as The Story of a Puppet (Italian: La storia di un burattino) in the Giornale per i bambini, one of the earliest Italian weekly magazines for children, starting from 7 July 1881.
PARCO DI PINOCCHIO - COLLODI, Collodi, Toscana, Italy. Un parco ludico e formativo a tema PINOCCHIO .
Collodi is a village in Tuscany made worldwide famous by the author of The Adventures of Pinocchio, the best-known and most printed non-religious book of all times. The author’s name was Carlo Lorenzini, but he chose Collodi as his pen name. This is a sign of his bond with this small town: his mother was born and raised here and Carlo spent part of childhood here, also returning several times as an adult to visit his mother’s family. The ancient village of Collodi Castello – behind Villa Garzoni – has preserved its appearance as a medieval fortified village, and even now you can only pass through it on foot. The majestic Garzoni Garden is one of the most beautiful and best preserved Baroque-style gardens in Europe. Together with Pinocchio Park, they make this corner of Tuscany magical and unique.
