Even in 1962, James Brown was known as & hardest working man in show business', but the release of this album made him the undeniable & of Soul'. The four Bonus tracks on this CD consist of three singles released in that period plus another short Medley. These repeat songs already in the original live album and are, nevertheless, nice additions to the CD. This CD is beyond classic, it is an essential recording to own. This deserves a SIXTH Star. Perhaps the best James Brown album around and it's live!! My goodness this is the hardest working man in show business and you must not miss his best album. Being live at the Apollo - the audience becomes a big part of this album.

From James Brown to Etta James, Jimi Hendrix to Patsy Cline, here are the tracks that lit up the decade. But that’s not all it was. The 1960s also included the slyly political pop of Brazil’s Os Mutantes, the early electronic experiments of Silver Apples, and the free jazz exhalations of Albert Ayler. It was a single-oriented era-a startlingly inventive period following the initial explosion of rock’n’roll but before the album became dominant-when entire new genres seemed to bubble up every few months
