Almendra (pronounced ; Spanish for "almond") is the self-titled debut studio album by Argentine rock band Almendra which was released in 1969 on Vik, a subsidiary of RCA Victor. To distinguish it from the band's next release, Almendra II, it is also known as Almendra I. The album represented the first full-length musical endeavour of nineteen-year-old Luis Alberto Spinetta, having formed the band in the mid 1960s along with Emilio del Guercio, Edelmiro Molinari and Rodolfo García
All tracks interpreted by Almendra. Lead Vocals: Renny Montaño Drums, Percussion & Backing Vocals: Enrique Santana Acoustic Guitar & Backing Vocals: Robert Valerio Bass & Backing Vocals: Enrique Doffiny Keyboards: Miguel Ángel García Cueto Percussion & Congas: Gustavo Vargas Electric Guitar: Rodolfo Spitaleri. one (от лица компании "Best Record Italy"); ASCAP, UMPG Publishing.
Almendra's self-titled debut is not only one of the first Argentinean rock albums, but one of its best. Recorded in 1969, and released shortly afterward, it showcases the band's personal approach to pop and rock, avoiding common places and creating a world of its own. The album opens with "Muchacha (Ojos de Papel)," a love song that became an instant classic. But the album is great from the beginning till the end. A masterpiece.
Isn't Commons:Template:CC-AR-GCBA good enough? f: It would if the album cover was designed/created by the Government of Buenos Aires City. I will consult it at Commons through a Deletion request. I will pass the article as this is merely an issue and it is not related to the article itself.
A 2-set live album -Almendra en Obras (Almendra ML 712 & 713) -, and a studio album of new material -El valle interior (Almendra ML 135) - were also released, this time on their own independent label. Some interesting compilations are 1972’s Almendra (series Rock Progresivo) (RCA Vik LZ-1227) and 1977’s Muchacha, ojos de papel (RCA AVS-4765). Both include singles. A rare 4-song EP with PS (RCA Vik 3ZE-3704) also exists. Also, a t book titled Almendra, featuring poems and drawings was published in 1970. All records were re-issued on CD.
