Willy and the Poor Boys is the fourth studio album American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival, released by Fantasy Records in November 1969, and was the last of three studio albums that the band released in that year. The album was remastered and reissued on 180 Gram Vinyl by Analogue Productions in 2006. The album features the songs "Down on the Corner", from which the album got its name, and "Fortunate Son", which is a well known protest song.
Willie and the Poor Boys is the eponymous debut studio album of British blues rock band Willie and the Poor Boys. The album was recorded within two weeks in November 1984, and one week in early January 1985 at the Sol, Cookham, Berkshire, and released on Decca Records on 25 April 1985 in the United Kingdom, and Passport Records on 22 April 1985, in the United States.
Recorded live by Lars Hedh of Swedish radio in Halmstad, Sweden on July 31st 1992. Mastered by Tim Young at the Hit Factory.
With Bill in the saddle, the ad hoc all-star charity gigs (for which purposes their participants had been collectively known as The All Star Band) slowly developed into a solo project that he christened Willie & The Poor Boys, with Bill - or William Perks, as he'd been known in his pre-Stones days - as the titular Willie. In August 1985 he attempted to explain the name to American chat show king David Letterman. When we were at school, they used to call me little Willie.
Tribute albums are always tricky – let alone ones that rely on old Rock 'n' Roll and Rhythm 'n' Blues tunes as its backbeat.

With the CD issue of the studio recordings by Willie and the Poor Boys - former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman and a host of the most enduring session and touring players in British rock music history - listeners get to reconsider not only the songs themselves, a smoking batch of early rock & roll, country, R&B, and even soul recordings, done. in a loose but expertly played fashion, but the root of rock & roll itself as played and felt during its golden age. But these yobs are no mere archivists. They were out to have a ball and let the music speak for itself.
