Score by John Williams ("Star Wars") to the 1975 shark thriller from director Steven Spielberg. Peter Benchley's bestselling novel about the sobering impact of shark attacks on a New England beach town's tourist season gave director Steven Spielberg the perfect opportunity to craft a suspenseful action-drama. I was also aware that the "original soundtrack album," which I wore out (you could do that in the days of LP), was a re-recording that seemed to use a smaller orchestra and also omitted quite a bit of the best of the score.
