I'm the Man is Joe Jackson's second album, released in October 1979. Taken from the album, "It's Different for Girls", was his biggest UK chart single, peaking at number five in the UK Singles Chart. I'm the Man was re-released in 2001 with one bonus track, a live version of "Come On". "Come On" was originally released as the b-side to Jackson's single "I'm the Man", also issued in October 1979.
I'm the Man" is a song written and performed by Joe Jackson, appearing on the album of the same name.
While this song represents his skill at crafting an effective ballad, the frantic "I'm the Man" showcases Jackson at his most frenzied, as a freight train's worth of lyrics pile haphazardly into one another alongside a wonderfully hysteric rhythm

Album I'm The Man (1979). Label A&M Records. What If I Never Get Over You. Lady Antebellum. Joe Jackson – I'm The Man Lyrics. from album: I'm The Man (1979). Pretty soon now Y'know I'm gonna make a comeback And like the birds and the bees in the trees It's a sure-fire smash I'll speak To the masses throughout the media And if you got anything to say to me You can say it with cash 'Cause I got the trash and you got the trash can So. baby we should get along fine So give me all your money 'cause I know you think I'm funny Can't you hear me laughing Can't you see me smile
Joe Jackson released ‘I’m the Man’ on October 5, 1979, remaking the image he'd forged with his debut LP ‘Look Sharp!’ . That was the label applied in the late ’70s to Joe Jackson, Elvis Costello and Graham Parker – songwriters and frontmen who became famous on the heels of the British punk explosion. Although these fellows created music as unfettered as the Sex Pistols and the Damned, they seemed to channel the movement’s gritted-teeth rage with their lyrics more than their music. Call it pub rock, call it punk rock, call it New Wave – this was energetic rock with a point of view.

Joe's next chapter in punk. Joe Jackson is an extremely versatile musician. I'm the Man" followed closely after his successful release of " Look Sharp" and raised the tempo even more. However, if you did not relish in the days of punk, do not despair as Joe has included meaningful melodies like "It's different for Girls" and the grooving "Kinda Kute" which slow the pace in time for the next burst of energy and rhythm of the glorious post-disco days . Joe Jackson - I'm the man. Wanted to replace old album. Great to hear after 20 years and still sounds good.
