In Flight is the first solo album by singer and producer Linda Perry, released in 1996. It was produced by Bill Bottrell (Sheryl Crow, Michael Jackson). Perry re-released the album in 2005 on her own record label Custard Records

0. Along the Path (Metropolitan). Like many globetrotting jazz musicians, New York-based pianist Linda Presgrave takes inspiration from her travels. For Along the Path, Presgrave penned a pair of suites that were sparked by visits to China, Japan and France. She and her husband, soprano saxophonist Stan Chovnick, co-composed the disc’s concluding track, Universal Freedom, a minor blues that wraps up the album on a hopeful note. Presgrave and Chovnick state the melody on the opening title track, which provides plenty of space for the pianist’s solo. Bassist Harvie S then takes a turn in the spotlight. His digits slide up and down the fingerboard and resonantly pluck strings, before yielding to t Allison Miller’s cymbal shadings and tom-and-snare rolls

Pianist Linda Presgrave and her quintet will launch the Jazz in July series July 8. ’Jazz in July’ intensifies the summer musical scene on campus by paralleling, with contrasting programming, the free Sunday night concerts offered by the Gateway Festival Orchestra, notes Sue Taylor, PhD, a coordinator of Jazz at Holmes and instructor in University College in Arts & Sciences. The first, In Your Eyes (2000) drew praise from The New Yorker magazine, which described Presgrave as a probing, resourceful mainstream pianist with an impressive debut album prowls the bebop landscape for all the stylistic diversity it can offer.

Linda Presgrave, jazz pianist, composer, and arranger, relocated to New York City in 1998 leaving a very active music career in her native city of St. Louis. Since that time, Linda has released four CDs on the Metropolitan Records label including Inspiration (2009), The Journey, The Linda Presgrave Quartet Live and In Your Eyes. She has performed on the stages of the JVC Jazz Festival, New York, the Mary Lou Williams Jazz Festival at the Kennedy Center (Astoria Big Band), Dizzys Club Coca-Cola (Jazz at Lincoln Center), World Forum on Music(Los Angeles), VI. Festival Internationalde.
