Joseph Kim Mitchell (born July 10, 1952) is a Canadian musician. He was the lead singer and guitarist for the band Max Webster before going on to lead a solo career.

On Aural Fixations, Mitchell takes one further step to smooth over the quirks, severing his ties with career-long lyricist Pye Dubois. This is good for those who were sometimes left puzzled by Dubois' fanciful, lyrical leaps, not so good for those who found the verbal roller-coaster stimulating. New songwriting partner Jim Chevalier makes a competent, if comparatively ordinary successor. Aural Fixation" will please fans of Mitchell's four previous solo outings. Those who have wondered what all the fuss is about will find little here to change their view.
