Jim Diamond (born 28th September 1951, Bridgetown, Glasgow, Scotland - died 8th October 2015) was a Scottish singer-songwriter. His musical career started at 15 when he joined his first band. He spent the next seven years performing vocals for various soul and blues bands. Jim Diamond is Singer/Songwriter Jim Diamond's self-titled and third studio album. Diamond was assisted by old friends Graham Lyle and Chris Parren, who had worked with him on previous albums. The album featured tracks like "Broadway" (which was released as a single), "Could Have Fooled Me" and "Second Chance". The Last Time" was also released as a single ("Miracles" was the B-Side. Jim Diamond obituary. Singer-songwriter whose top five hits in the 1980s included I Should Have Known Better. Adam Sweeting and Ewen MacAskill. In 1993 he released the album Jim Diamond, which reached No 16 on the UK charts, and went on tour performing acoustic versions of his catalogue of songs. In the late 90s he teamed up with the saxophonist Chris Snake Davis, renowned for his studio work with M People, George Michael, Paul McCartney and many more, and they performed as The Blue Shoes.
