Madness (Madness album). 1983 compilation album by Madness. and two single a-sides. The 1980 album Absolutely is not represented on the compilation. The album contains every UK single from "Grey Day" to "Tomorrow's (Just Another Day)," with the exception of "Driving in My Car," which has never been issued on any US compilation. However, the album was also issued in Japan where "Driving In My Car" replaced "Rise & Fall".
That debut album, One Step Beyond. was released by Stiff Records. The album included a re-recording of "The Prince" and its B-side "Madness", and the band's second and third singles: "One Step Beyond" and "My Girl". The title song was a cover of the B-side of the 1960s Prince Buster hit "Al Capone"

Alice: Why would I do that? You want to eat me! Duchess: Yes, well you taught me manners and I've lost my taste for mad women; strictly a porcine diet for me. Everything is better with bacon, don't you agree? Of course you do. Now, there are pig snots scattered about. The whole truth you 'claim' to seek eludes you because you won't look at what's around you! There is no method in this madness! Dr Wilson: My professional opinion? Madness is often a treatable disease, though perhaps not in this case.
She tells him ‘You must be desperate or something. The fact that the man also gives the record player and some of his records to Jack and his girlfriend may also be significant as despite them having some value to the man and possibly holding some memory of his life with his wife, Jack’s girlfriend considers the records to be ‘crappy’ and ‘shit’. It may be a case that the girl’s pride is getting in the way hence she is acting in a condescending manner when talking about the man. Though we don’t know for sure he may have rejected her should she have made an advance towards him. Something that may have possibly happened if you consider it to be a case that all is not well in the boy’s and girl’s relationship.
