Jaco is the unofficial later title of a 1974 LP album on Paul Bley's Improvising Artists Label. It is notable for being the first professional recording showcasing the talents of Jaco Pastorius and Pat Metheny. The two had become friends in Miami the year before. The album was released during the following year by ECM, also home to Bley since his Open, to Love from 1972. Pat Metheny – guitar.

Paul Bley’s 1973 album Open, To Love is one of the essential albums in ECM’s catalog, and an essential solo-piano album, period. It is unmissable both for its emotional directness and its quiet experimentalism, as Bley judiciously plucks and strums at the strings inside the instrument; it sounds, at times, like his hand has strayed from the concert grand to strike a long, resonant chord on an adjacent harpsichord. Solo in Mondsee, his first album of solo piano for ECM since Open, To Love, is a gorgeous, late-career album recorded in 2001 and released in 2007, to commemorate his 75th birthday.

Hyman Paul Bley, CM (November 10, 1932 – January 3, 2016) was a Canadian pianist known for his contributions to the free jazz movement of the 1960s as well as his innovations and influence on trio playing. Bley was a long-time resident of the United States. His music characteristically featured strong senses both of melodic voicing and space. Open, to Love released: 2008.
