3/4 Special as a whole, however, never comes close to the peak of that song. Joy Rider seem to have a bit of an identity crisis - they want to be both Ash and Green Day at the same time and fail to be as memorable as either. While a few tracks - like the dreary "That Tired" and the follow-up single "All Gone Away" - are pleasant-sounding filler, most of the album suffers from dry, lifeless production and forgettable tunes. 3/4 Special is a disappointing debut considering the highs that Joy Rider achieved on "Rush Hour.
