Greatest Hits is the fourth compilation album by American pop rock duo Sonny & Cher, released in 1974 by MCA Records. Greatest Hits was released in 1974 and reached on the Billboard album charts. Greatest Hits contains Sonny and Cher's hit songs from their two studio albums and their live albums released by Kapp/MCA Records.
This 16-track compilation brings together all the hits and important tracks from the second stage of success from the careers of Sonny and Cher. In signing with Kapp Records in 1970, Bono finally allowed an outside producer, in this case hitmaker "Snuff" Garrett, to assume the creative reigns. In doing so, he also got the duo back on the charts for an extended run. That comeback run is all chronicled here, with every Sonny and Cher and solo Cher track that charted aboard, along with some fun tracks like the album version of "The Greatest Show on Earth" and the live version.

All of the songs on this album are hits. I also Love "All I Ever Need Is You". I wanted a CD of Sonny & Cher's greatest hits but was unable to choose between this or the double CD set. Since I was turned off by the many live recordings on disc 2 of the double set, I chose this. Now I am not sure I made the right choice as the sound on this CD is terrible.
