Ayy, ayy, I walk around like that nigga, finger on the trigger If a nigga want some smoke, I let this choppa eat his liver (Boom!) I came with that. 38, I'm leavin' with a body If he try me, do him sloppy, shootin' out the big body (Raah) I walk around like that nigga, finger on the trigger If a nigga want some smoke, I let this choppa eat his liver (Boom!) Read or print original That's Why Darkies Were Born lyrics 2019 updated! Brothers, sisters, when this world began, There was work t. Someone had to pick the cotton Someone had to pick the corn Someone had to slave and be able to sing That's why darkies were born Someone had to laugh at trouble Though he was tired and worn Had to be contented with any old thing That's why darkies were born Sing, sing, sing when you're weary And sing when.

The second half is largely reflective, with songs that reveal the band's feelings about time passing and life ending (much more than any other material in their entire careers). For those worried about either Love or Wilson dominating the proceedings, it's clear to see that not only Wilson gets his moment in the sun. For Mike Love, it's "Daybreak Over the Ocean," which could have come off as an update of "Kokomo"'s tropical motif (with Mike crooning a little too close to your ear), but is thankfully treated very lightly. For Al Jardine, it's "From There to Back Again," easily the most beautiful song on the album, a Side 2 ballad epic that Wilson frames impeccably around Jardine's voice, aging but still sweet.
