Original Rockers is a reggae album by Augustus Pablo and is a compilation of singles, all recorded between 1972 and 1975. It was originally released in 1979 on Greensleeves Records and was compiled by journalist and photographer Dave Hendley. It features Robbie Shakespeare and Aston Barrett on bass guitar, Earl "Chinna" Smith on guitar and guest vocals from Dillinger on the track 'Brace a Boy'.

Horace Swaby (21 June 1954 – 18 May 1999), known as Augustus Pablo, was a Jamaican roots reggae and dub record producer, melodica player and keyboardist, active from the 1970s till his death. He popularised the use of the melodica (an instrument at that time primarily used in Jamaica to teach music to schoolchildren) in reggae music. His album King Tubbys Meets Rockers Uptown (1976) is often regarded as one of the most important examples of dub.

Originally released in 1978, Augustus Pablo's "Original Rockers" is one of the all-time greatest and most transcendental Dub albums ever made. Nearly 40 years after its original release it still sounds as fresh and as stunning as it did back in 1978. Tunes like "New Style", "Brace A Boy", "Rockers Dub", "Jah Dread", "Up Warrikka Hill" and "AP Special" are perfect examples of Dub Reggae at its very best from one of the genre's greatest figures

Original Rockers is a solid introduction to Augustus Pablo's haunting melodica playing, and includes brief flashes of his dub inspiration as well on "Tubby's Dub Song" and "Rockers Du. As usual, the lineup is superb with Robbie Shakespeare, Aston and Carlton "Carlie" Barrett, Earl "Chinna" Smith and Bobby Ellis, among others.
