Dewar's (/ˈdjuːər/) is a brand of blended Scotch whisky owned by Bacardi, which claims the brand's "White Label" to be the top-selling blended Scotch in the US. Dewar’s is also the world’s most awarded blended Scotch whisky with more than 500 medals earned in international competitions. The Dewar's whisky brand was created by John Dewar, Sr. in 1846. Under the control of his two sons, John A. Dewar Jr. and Thomas "Tommy" Dewar, the brand expanded to become a global market leader by 1896.

A swirl of honey, with a sprig of Scottish heather. Rich, golden, and warm. Clean, fresh vanilla, with a slice of pear. Soft, fruity, and well-rounded.

The gold signature "JOHN DEWAR" is on the side of the cap. The year "1846" in an oval is etched into the glass on the front of the bottle. The front of the bottle contains a two-part label. One part is white with a narrow cutout, gold line, a beige design of medals and the red wording "DEWAR'S "WHITE LABEL"". The other part is red with a narrow cutout and gold outlining. The dotted lines outlining the container and cap indicate placement of the mark and are not part of the mark.

Dewar's White Label is the economy car of scotch, and that is not a bad thing. It's ahead of its class, and while I personally keep several mid to high tier scotches on hand, I always keep a bottle of Dewar's White Label within reach. The reason is simple; it's delicious. A scotch that is unassuming, sweet and simple. On various whiskey sites this has achieved Gold and Silver awards for blended whiskey. I have to say the initial sensation was somewhat harsh and fiery.
