Even Yanks couldn’t resist these raging Brit-pop-punk gems, and it wasn’t long before the Sheffield quartet’s debut became the fastest-selling debut album by a band in UK chart history. Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not Q&A. Photography By Andy Brown & Alexandra Wolkowicz. Design By Juno Liverpool. Mixing Assistance By Owen Skinner. Mixing By Barny Barnicott & Jim Abbiss. Additional Recording by Alan Smyth.

Produced by Brian Wilson, the album was recorded to coincide with the band's 50th anniversary. It is their first album to feature original material since Summer in Paradise in 1992, their first album to feature guitarist and backing vocalist David Marks since Little Deuce Coupe in 1963, and their first album since the 1998 death of co-founder Carl Wilson.

Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not is the debut studio album by English rock band Arctic Monkeys, released on 23 January 2006 by Domino Recording Company. The album surpassed Elastica's self-titled album to become the fastest selling debut album in British music history, shifting over 360,000 copies in its first week, and remains the fastest selling debut album by a band. It has since gone quintuple platinum in the UK.

It would be nice to think that a democratized music industry would mean the kids are tossing up alternatives to what they're already getting, but the Arctic Monkeys are, at their heart, the same sort of meat'n'potatoes guitar rock that has dominated the UK since the emergence of the Strokes, if not Oasis.

That's Slim Shady, yeah baby, Slim Shady's crazy Shady made me, but tonight Shady's rocka-by-baby. And when I'm gone, just carry on, don't mourn Rejoice every time you hear the sound of my voice Just know that I'm looking down on you smiling And I didn't feel a thing, So baby don't feel no pain Just smile back And when I'm gone, just carry on, don't mourn Rejoice every time.

Sanders: That’s a very good question and that is exactly the issue that many of us worry about and that many of us are working on. I would say that that question is better offered to many of my Republican colleagues. I have very conservative Republican colleagues who believe in democracy, who are going to fight for their reactionary economic views but who do not believe in authoritarianism. The proof will be in the pudding, according to how Tom Perez and how he ends up leading the party. Sanders: We have used that – not we, I’m not actively involved in the day-to-day efforts of Our Revolution. But Our Revolution has played a good role with some success.

The photo of McClure squinting at the camera and smoking a cigarette that ended up on the cover of 'Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not' was snapped late that night. There was some controversy surrounding the cover art after the album release - a Scotland health official said the photo "reinforces the idea that smoking is O. Johnny Bradshaw, the band's product manager, responded to criticism by saying, "you can see from the image smoking is not doing him the world of good. Next: Chris McClure Now.
