Michael Santiago Render (born April 20, 1975), better known by his stage name Killer Mike, is an American rapper, actor, and activist. He is the founder of Grind Time Official Records, which he launched through the SMC and Fontana Distribution.

For PL3DGE, Mike switched it up. "The album is decidedly happier and groovier, not as menacing and beating up. It was not about the supporters, it was about me and my influences," he explained. It was about my mother and grandmother wanting to see me on TV and hear me on the radio before they die. "It was about those things and because of that I decided to shorten the name from I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind to just PL3DGE. Because the first pledge you make is always going to be to yourself, to better yourself. PL3DGE is set to be released on May 17 on Grind.
