A wonderful compilation of recordings (in the same manner as all the others of the Caribbean Carnival series on Delos) made during practice sessions for the Panorama competition in Trinidad. All of the major forces in the competition circa 1990 are present for the listener. Len Boogsie Sharpe has a piece here, as does Lord Kitchener. The prime bands, too, are playing at top form (or at least close to it). As with the others in the series (Pan Woman, Trinidad Carnival, Carnival Jump Up, et., one that has any love for steelband music at all should definitely.

The album starts out with a wonderful rendition of "La Bamba," set to the tune of a surprisingly small 19-member contingent of a band. After this, many slightly more traditional calypso works set in.
