HMS Morris are a Welsh psychedelic pop rock trio set to release their debut album in a couple of weeks. The tempo slows later on and Sam’s got some epic bass riffs hiding in tracks like ‘From The Neck Down’ and ‘Gold’. The highlight of the album for me, though, is definitely the last track, ‘Shred’. It adds depth to the band’s sound and is surprisingly delicate, leaving a lasting impact on the listener.

HMS Donovan is the ninth studio album, and tenth album overall, from British singer-songwriter Donovan. It marks the second album of Donovan's children's music, after the For Little Ones portion of A Gift from a Flower to a Garden. HMS Donovan is the second double album of Donovan's career, and was released in the UK only, in July 1971 (Dawn Records DNLD 4001 (stereo)).

HMS Morris intuitively understands that less is more, that partially shrouding something makes it more beguiling. Imagine sailing an unfamiliar sea, trying to follow Will-o’-the-Wisps through shifting banks of fog, all the while in imminent danger of breaking your hull against the jagged rocks beneath the surface. Well, that’s sort of what HMS Morris sound like. The sound they make is also, resolutely, pop music; especially if you think of Syd Barrett’s 1st album as being pop music (there is a psychedelic vibration at the blurred edge of HMS Morris.
