Flowing Tears was a German gothic metal band. Their original name was Flowing Tears & Withered Flowers, which they used for their first several releases. The band formed in 1994 under the moniker Flowing Tears & Withered Flowers. Under the first name, they released a demo called Bijou in 1995, two full-length albums: Swansongs in 1996 and Joy Parade in 1998, and an EP named Swallow in 1999. On Swansongs, Manfred Bersin contributed the male vocals.

Roger Deans first album cover was for the self titled album from the band Gun who had a distinctive psych-flavored proto-metal" sound, although the work was not really created as an album cover by Dean, meaning that the band pulled an existing image out of his portfolio and asked if they could use it for such. Roger met Dominique on September 1976 during the planning of Queen& free concert at Hyde Park. She was Richard Branson's personal assistant. They were together for 12 years and had two children together (Felix Luther, born on 22 May 1980, and Rory Eleanor, born on 29 May 1986.
